What We Do

We aim to give a voice to the voiceless

We are a grassroots outreach organization focused on changing the narrative surrounding homelessness by uplifting unhoused voices. Through short discussion topics, personal stories, and analysis of complex current social issues, we provide a platform for unhoused people to use their voices and feel empowered. We strive to respect our participant’s time by compensating them monetarily through gift cards. Thanks to our generous sponsors and partners, we’re able to offer some basic care/safety items.

With just a couple microphones and a camera, we open up a dialogue for folks of all demographics. We interact with members from one of the most vulnerable populations in Denver, many of whom, do not have knowledge of, or access to the resources available in the city. In addition to listening to and sharing people’s stories, we also seek to connect them with these resources so that they can access the support they deserve.

Hearing from the people struggling the most from the housing crisis in America can be difficult and disheartening at times, but we believe that it’s important for everyone to understand the depth of the situation and the structural barriers that houseless people face. Any real solutions to homelessness need to be rooted in compassion, empathy, and understanding. That’s why we’re out here on the streets, trying our best to uplift the voices of our unhoused neighbors and community members. The only way things are going to get better is if we work together to create change from the bottom up.

Denver Street Stories is a recognized 501c3 educational charitable organization. Help us change the narrative, show empathy, humanize, and care for homeless folks by listening to their stories. Help us grow, and you might just grow a little yourself.

Hate less, love, and listen more.
